Simmons, who has not been here for a couple of years will return with seven head including Skippy McGee, The Darb, Vanda Cerulea, Donnahona and Cerro, all winners during the summer at various tracks. The Wichita Stable unloaded fifteen head at the Fair Grounds during the week including several two-year-olds carrying the "Wichita" as well as seven yearlings. Mrs. E. Drillon and J. Elfer were other arrivals. 1 Racing secretary Leigh recalled old times the other day when he picked up an old clipping showing the winning of Remorse at Union Park, St Louis in 1905. Leigh trained the horse and, old theatrical followers will recall the play "checkers" in which the lead line was "Come on Remorse." Judge J. A. Murphy presided at the meeting and Arthur McKnight was starter. Railbirds can look forward to a number of new as well as old race yarns around the judges stand mornings, with the arrival of J. M. Rector, who will bring Smooth, Glove and Silk Covering here for the meeting. Col. James Farley, who is announcer at the Fair Grounds and now doing the announcing at Epsom .Downs, writes that he is a full-fledged trainer, having two horses which he will campaign in his wifes name this winter. Ray Bryson, in addition to eleven yearlings, will bring the following horses to New Orleans this winter: Carvola, Kievson, Mars ?Se N?Um-ic ,tone FJylnS True, Honey ,zth-oPlfze vivola. Sable Scarf. Bread ro,H- King, Foxland Hall, By the Sword R. A. Coward, who campaigned a useful fnrJ"?SerI?SWinter wi" shP the following to the Fair Grounds during the early part of November: Heart Break, Reelon, Snobedo! Seraphic Knight, Miss Dallas, Benny B Hacr-gerson, Pennant Bearer and Fayette Prince Jess Burke is another veteran who made apl plications for six head. Ottie Clennan will bring fifteen head here- D. Womeldorf, five; T. L. Pierce, eight; O b Rogers, six; Joe Neal, four; AI Luzader six E. Beougher, two; H. K. Barron, seven; b! Chapman, twelve; F. H. Carpenter, six; Glenn Gorbett, six; W. D. Hutt, six; G. L. Hamilton, six; Elmer Johnson, three? and Cliff Helm, five. Arthur G. Gaignard will return will All Rowes, On Leave, Traggart, Pish Tush and Sir Michael. H. T. White will bring twelve head from New England including All Forlorn, Broadsword and Hadtobe.
