PHLOX had more speed than usual, saved ground, but was unable to stay with the winner when forced to a hard drive. WARRIOR QUEEN was prominent all during the running." but failed to threaten seriously in the closing drive. MARY KEEN could not better her position in the late stages after being forced to race on the outside. STARAWAY was held perfectly safe. TEDEEN was outrun. INDIANA showed early speed. The latter assumed a slight lead midway of the turn after racing SYLVIA G. into submission, but could not stay when collared midway of the stretch. CANPRA improved his position gradually and Finished with good courage. OUT OF FIRE raced well placed, saved ground, but was not good enough. RUDENIA failed to rally when put to strong urging.
