MILLIE M. forced a steady pace while following PHLOX closely, rallied stoutly to take command when reaching the stretch, was kept under urging and came out steadily at the close. PHLOX had more speed than usual, saved ground, but was unable to stay with the winner when forced to a hard drive. WARRIOR QUEEN was prominent all during the running." but failed to threaten seriously in the closing drive. MARY KEEN could not better her position in the late stages after being forced to race on the outside. STARAWAY was held perfectly safe. TEDEEN was outrun. INDIANA showed early speed. The latter bettered his position steadily and came with good energy in the final drive. MORE TROUBLE raced forwardly and .closed gamely through the last three-sixteenths. 1IANDLEY raced close up. from the beginning and had no excuses ADAMS EYE .was unable to threaten in the final issue. ZINNIA tired after a half mile. DRESSMAKER was never dangerous. STEEL TOES dropped back badly after the start and swung verv wide into the stretch. He raced as if in pain. The latter assumed a slight lead midway of the turn after racing SYLVIA G. into submission, but could not stay when collared midway of the stretch. CANPRA improved his position gradually and Finished with good courage. OUT OF FIRE raced well placed, saved ground, but was not good enough. RUDENIA failed to rally when put to strong urging. BULWARK, slow to settle into his stride, finished full of run in the last" half mile. ALBANIA began tiring after three-quarters. GENIE PALATINE tired after going with the pace for three-quarters. CREDULOUS, under steadying restraint early, was guided to the outside when making his move at the stretch turn, ran out badly and his rider was of little help when it came to a drive. MANUAL was rushed up fast to force the pace, but failed to stay in the final drive. PILLNITA was held safe. WITTEKIND could not engage the leaders.
