Harrison, who trains the horses of the Howe Stable, came down from Jamaica on a business mission. The horses of that establishment will not be raced during the winter racing. Mrs. Virginia B. Potter, who has won several purses with the good four-year-old filly Masked Queen, intends to add to her racing string, .which is in charge of Dan Kearney. Arthur Brent, who" handles the Erindale Stable for Coulter Brothers, of Toronto, Ontario, has applied for stabling accommodations at Pimlico. Mrs. A. J.. Abel purchased the Maryland-bred two-year-old, Max B., from V. Kaiser. J. B. Campbell, who will serve as racing secretary during the Bowie meeting, forwarded word to J. B. Boyle that he has started work in compiling the condition book for the fifteen-day meeting of the Southern Maryland Agricultural Association. Members of the Maryland Breeders Association gathered in the clubhouse at Laurel before the first race Saturday for luncheon. Edward R. Bradley and his trainers, William Hurley and H. J. Thompson, boarded a train at 5:15 Saturday for Lexington, Ky. They made the trip especially to watch the yearling trials at Idle Hour Farm. Work on the erection of overhead sheds at Bowie leading from the parking space entrance and the Pennsylvania Railroad unloading platforms have been completed, according to Joseph B. Boyle, general manager. Jockey L. Coffman was suspended for the balance of the meeting for rough riding astride E. Kanes Moonside in the sixth race Saturday.
