BIG CROWD SEES JOEY WIN AT DUFFER1N PARK I TORONTO, Ont, Oct. 19. Joey, black gelded son of Dr. Joe and Aileen Hoey, raced to a popular victory in the running of the University Purse, feature offering of the second day of the Dufferin Park meeting, when he came from far back to drive to a neck victory in thrilling fashion "before the Four Ls Stables Spearman at the end of the six and one-half furlongs. Ko, from the stable of F. English, was in third place, four lengths back and two and one-half lengths in advance of Mrs. J. McElroys Simosec. This event, under allowance conditions and fashioned jr home-breds, served as the feature and topped a thrilling afternoon of sport which had a dead heat and thrilling close finishes. Another crowd of close to 8,000 was in attendance and following the running of the feature event about 3,000 more took advantage of the free gate. The racing was conducted under cloudy skies over a good racing strip.
