SMITH SAYS PLAN IMPRACTICAL SALEM, N. H., June 23. Lou Smith, managing director of Rockingham Park, when informed of the plan of Walter M. Casey of Beaumont, Texas, to move the Houston grandstand to a point over the Louisiana line and open a race track, stated that the whole proposal was news to him. Smith said it seemed highly impractical, as the cost of moving the stand would be prohibitive and the point proposed for the race track too remote to draw crowds from any large center of population.
