I L ! ! ! TWO HUNDRED HORSES Reach Arlington Park for Thirty-Day Meeting Beginning Monday. Vanguard of 1,200 Racers Expected Now on the Scene Privileged Among the Early Arrivals. ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, 111., June 23. Two hundred horses, the vanguard of the 1,200 which will race at Arlington Park during the thirty-day meeting opening Monday, have arrived by train and van and are now quartered in their stalls here. The influx of the thoroughbred stars of the East and West will be steadily speeded up until the peak is, reached over the week-end, when Washington Park closes its gates on the south side. The Bahr starting gate has been trundled into the seven-furlong chute and starter Roy Dickerson will conduct schooling from it Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings from 7 to 9 oclock. Trainer Frank Kearns lias shipped in the advance division of Warren Wrights Calumet Farm. This shipment of ten included the Chicago sportsmans crack three-year-old Privileged, which was disqualified after finishing first in the Pimlico Futurity last Fall. Privileged will be pointed for the 0,000 added Classic Stakes here on July 24. TEN MARS HORSES. Ten horses of the Milky Way stable also got in and the remainder of this large, establishment will be shipped over from Washington Park Sunday. Bennett Creech arrived with sixteen horses from Suffolk Downs, leading the contingent which will come here from the New England sector for Arlingtons meeting. Among the other early arrivals were sixteen horses racing for Mrs. John Hertz; the Shady Brook Farm, 13; R. N. Vestal, 8; Anthony Pelleteris public stable, 14; H. C. McConnell, 13; Frank Walker, 7; Wm. Bradley, 2; and M. R. Sullivan, 2. With the horses streaming in, the main track and mile training oval have been the scenes of increasing activity in the mornings. This device, being introduced to mid-west racing fans for the first time at the coming meeting, is claimed to be the fastest operation of its type in the sport and materially reduces the time in which the judges may check the picture and flash the placing numbers.
