DESERT CALL TRIUMPHANT t Carries the Seremba Silksjto Victory in St. Lawrence Handicap at Blue Bonnets. MONTREAL, Que., June 23. Desert Call, carrying the red, white and green silks of Eddie Seremba, accounted for the St. Lawrence Handicap, feature of the fourth day of the Blue Bonnets meeting, in rather handy fashion, although ridden out by a two and one-half lengths margin over the Stockwood J Stables Willow Wand. Two lengths back in j I third place came J. G. Fairs Lorraine S., a length in advance of Mrs. D. M. Clarks Baby Princess. i Racing, was again conducted over a. heavy racing strip, which was drying out fast under bright, sunny skies. Another good crowd was in attendance to witness the program, which was entirely made up of sprint events. There was only a slight delay at the start of the feature and starter Rlchey had the field away in good order. Willow Wand was the first to show in the lead from the gate, followed by Baby Princess, Lorraine S. and Desert Call. In the run to the turn Willow Wand opened up a length and one-half lead, , while Baby Princess, Lorraine S. and Desert Call raced side by side. As they swung around the turn Willow Wand stiU held the lead and Desert Call, racing on the outside, moved into second place before Lorraine S. VThen the stretch was reached, Marshio, astride Desert Call, placed him to a drive and he responded fast and moved into command as they passed the furlong post. Marshio kept on urging the Busy American gelding and hu came away to enjoy a two and or.e half lengths margin at the end. Willow Wand, the pacemaker, held on gamely and was well clear of Lorraine S. The latter raced in third place from, the start and was unable to advance her position. i
