1 PIMLIC0 TURF NOTES " e Peon, Tow Rope and At Play reached Bowie from New York in charge of trainer Clyde Phillips. General manager Joseph B. Boyle stated Monday that the following prizes will be at stake during the Bowie meeting: Silver trophy to the winning owner of the W. L. Burch Memorial on Wednesday; as well as silver trophies to the owners of the thoroughbreds winning the ,000 Thomas Kirby Lynch Memorial and the 0,000 James F. OHara and Gadsden D. Bryan Memorial races. The jockey riding the winner of the Bryan-OHara will receive a gold wrist watch. The leading rider during the thirteen days racing will receive the gold Gruen watch, donated by the Maryland Turf Writers Association. Jack Healy has arranged to ship his stable .to Miami Wednesday. Mickey Brooks, custodian of the press coop at Bowie, was an arrival from Narra-Igansett Park. Dion IC Kerr, who trains the horses of Mrs. John Hay Whitney and John A. Man-fuso, returned from a visit to Mrs. Whitneys Llangollen Farms in Virginia. Jockey Bobby Root wired from Kansas City, Kansas, that he would be at Bowie on Wednesday to accept mounts. He will later go to Charles Town. i H. Guy Bedwell has signed jockey Vin- cent Polk to a contract and the lad will ac- company Bedwells stable to California when ! Bowie closes. I H. E. Yorke, who trains the horses of Dr. and Mrs. R. C. Pike, among others, ar- rived at Bowie with nine horses from Kentucky. Dr. and Mrs. Pike were among the big crowd witnessing the running of the Manly Memorial Steeplechase.
