TANFORAN RACING UNDER WAY Goodly Crowd Out for Inaugural Program Number of Improvements Since Last Meeting. SAN BRUNO, Calif., Nov. 15 The weather man smiled on John W. Marchbank for the opening of his race meeting at Tanforan this afternoon. It was an ideal autumn day and a good-sized crowd turned out. A number of improvements have been made to the Tanforan plant since last season, noticeably in the clubhouse. The track was fast for the opening day of the sport. It was announced that Johnny Longden, Americas leading rider at present, would arrive at Tanforan next week. Basil Smith, the noted jockeys agent has been in almost constant touch with the lad and is booking future engagements for him. Charlie Cor-bett will be back later this week, while Silvio Coucci is due to arrive soon, and Basil James, who has been vacationing, will return to the saddle in the near future. Another welcome addition to the jockey colony will be Raymond Adair, flashy apprentice. Adair is well known in southern California, as he was the leading apprentice rider of the last Agua Caliente meeting. He has been performing on New England tracks and returns to the West with a fine reputation. He is under contract to the Rosedale Stable and can ride at 102 pounds. BARONIS PLANS. Owner Bert Baroni, who sent No Dice up to run in the Worlds Fair Handicap at Bay Meadows, returned the animal to the South, but before his departure stated that he would probably bring his crack three-year-old Specify to Tanforan later in the meeting. Season clubhouse box holders for the Tanforan meeting include the following: Robert A. Roos, J. Goldie, George Gian-nini, Alexis Ehrman, W. Laughlin, Harry Field, Mrs. Vanderbilt Phelps, Cleaveland Putnam, C. E. Durnell, Erroll McBoyle, Charles S. Howard, George Palmer Fuller, George T. Williams, B. L. Wallace, H. T.
