Clear weather and a fast track are ex- pected for the opening which will be fea- 1 , tured by the W. P. Burch Memorial Handi- j cap, a dash of six furlongs carrying a purse of ,500. Thirteen fast horses have been jiamed overnight for the Burch, including 1 the fast-stepping Sun Egret, winner of the : 1 Baltimore Autumn Handicap at Pimlico and other stakes during the season, including ; "the Bowie Spring and Rowe Memorial ! : Handicaps here during the spring meeting. PROSPECTIVE FAVORITE. Assigned 120 pounds, the A. C. Compton speedster is the Burch highweight, according ; to the scale, but he is likely to be installed the favorite, especially if his stablemate, Clingendaal, also accepts. Mrs. A. J. Abels Honey Cloud and Gus-tave Rings Lady Maryland are other Pimlico . stakes winners in the Burch field, the former having captured the Ritchie, after j I running second to Aneroid in the Riggs i Handicap, and the latter proved victorious in the Heiser Handicap. Other smart candidates for the inaugural attraction include the Millsdale Stables Rye Beach; Mrs. Louise Viaus Conquer and Mrs. G. C. Winfreys Bill Farnsworth. Charles S. Howards Chanceview, which scored a smashing victory here last fall and Jhas been training in good fashion, likewise is in the Burch field. In addition to the Burch and Bryan-OHara, the other stakes for older horses are the ,500-added Prince George Autumn Handicap, to be decided at a mile and one-sixteenth Saturday, and the ,000 Thomas K. Lynch Memorial Handicap, over the same route on Thanksgiving Day. Two-year-olds also are eligible to the Lynch as well as having an exclusive opportunity in the ,000 Endurance Handicap on the second Saturday. The Bryan-OHara headlines the closing program on Wednesday, November 30. IHGH CLASS CANDIDATES. Among the outstanding older stakes candidates in addition to those in the Burch field are Esposa, Aneroid, Mr. Canron, Hypocrite, Sir Raleigh, Bottle Cap, Jacola, Clo-dion, Savage Beauty and Roseretter. The well-known juveniles in the Endurance include the undefeated Xalapa Clown, as well as Morstep, Johns Heir, Grey Nurse, Invader and Donita M. Bowie again is under the management of Joseph B. Boyle, with John B. Campbell serving as racing secretary, as he has done for years.
