i COMMISSION RESTORES PER- j MIT OF HOLLYWOODCLUB i MIAMI, Fla., Nov. 15. With the announcement that the permit of the Hollywood I Jockey Club had been restored by the Florida Racing Commission, it is promised that as soon as the club is officially informed of the action, work will be resumed on the Hal-lendale course, which is just fifteen miles north of Miami. This action of the Commission follows the elimination of Joseph M. Smoot from all connection with the Hollywood Jockey Club. His interests were taken over by J. C. Horning, a contractor of Miami Beach, who becomes the largest individual stockholder. The racing commission had revoked the permit of the new club in August when it was apparent that nothing was being done in construction work for the new project. This action of the commission was the subject of litigation and a State Supreme Court ordered that the permit be reinstated. This late action of the commission, in restoring the permit, was announced by chairman Joseph Stein, after a meeting held at Jacksonville, Monday, and following the resignation of Smoot from all association with the club. The dates proposed for the ! Hollywood course are from January 11 until March 4, conflicting with the racing time of the Miami Jockey Club, at Hialcah. Park. Contractor Horning has promised that shortly the work of construction will be resumed and rushed along to make ready for the January opening.
