FAIR GROUNDS TURF NOTES f $ s Jack Thomas returned here from a trip to Charles Town, W. V. The Thomas camera which will be used, was installed at the Charles Town Jockey Club. Only three horses are in the stable of John Zitnik which came from River Downs. The Zitnik representatives are B. Eighty, Encircle and Miss Petrina. Frank Otis, who makes his home here is a daily track visitor. Otis, who came here from River Downs, will handle the jobs of paddock and patrol judge with Thomas Craven. After spending ten days with relatives at Lake Charles, La., John B. Theall returned and took over the training of the Joe W. Brown stable. Frank Mulvey checked in with his two-horse stable. Mulvey will be represented here by Rhimeda and Green Country. Labor Day and Diabolic will be the nucleus of another strong stable being assembled by Clyde Troutt who severed his connection recently with the John D. Hertz stable. Troutt came here from his Benton, Illinois home and stated he would add four others to the above which are at the Fair Grounds. Jimmy James came in from Cincinnati and announced he would make riding engagements for the veteran Earl Pool. Van Horton has decided to take out a trainers license. He purchased the two-year-old Incarnation, which was formerly conditioned by W. F. Lutz. Plucky Byrd, Chubbins and Grey Squaw will be the trio to sport the silks of I. C. Mishler at the local track. A. J. Plack has the useful stable in quarters here. Tom B. Miller returned from a trip to his home at Muskogee, Okla., and took over Chehalis, Bomount, Pakala, Trumont and Leap Year Lady. Apprentice Ray Camp is attached to the Miller stable.
