TONTA raced to the front early and, well rated while setting the early pace, withstood a challenge! from TENTMATE in the stretch to draw out in the last eighth. TENTMATE was closest to the winner throughout and tired after drawing up on almost even terms with the latter in the stretch. QUITE seemed to like the going and finished fairly well. NOJOQUI raced evenly. DONALD DUCK closed much ground FLINTRIDGE was handicapped when her rider was partially blinded by mud on the far turn. THE TRAINER, closed a gap. PLAYMASTER went to the front at once and, racing well in the going, was never headed, withstanding a challenge from DOLAWAY in the stretch to win handily. DOLAWAY, well up from the start, was unable to catch the winner, although making a game effort in the stretch. PAT W. closed much ground in the last quarter. GOLDEN IVY tired near the finish. POLVOS PRIDE raced well in the going and went gamely to the- finish. DROMBO dropped back after going a quarter, but was racing fairly well at the finish. DRACO was also going well at the end. PATOU BOW moved up strongly to Find an opening on the inside on the stretch turn and challenged LUCAS VALLEY, but tired in the last eighth. WILL DO was unable to get, to the front and tired. VALINA made a strong move between horses after leaving the back stretch, then tired. BONYNGE was never a serious contender. SKY EMPRESS did not like the going.
