DEATH OF JERRY EDDINGER Jerry Eddinger, a figure in baseball and racing for more than half a century, died at the St. Francis Hospital in Peoria. 111., Monday night at 6:20 oclock after an illness of two weeks duration. Jerry played with John McGraw, late manager of the New York Giants, Connie Mack, Clark Griffith and many others who became famous in. baseball. The diamond vet was seventy-five years of age. He was born in Springfield, 111. Since the legalization of racing in the state of Illinois Jerry has acted as a mutuel clerk cn the various tracks in Chicago during the summer months. Jerry frequently talked of the huge amounts he handled as a betting commissioner for the late Joe Yaeger, prominent figure in racing years ago. Funeral services were held at the Cumer-ford-Endsley Funeral home Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 oclock with Rev. B. G. Carpenter officiating. Burial was at Spring-dale.
