1 CHARLES TOWN TURF NOTES f 6 e Racing officials, horsemen, jockeys, trainers and turf fans in general were shocked upon learning of the death of Joseph Cat-tarinich, who passed away early Wednesday morning in New Orleans, La. A. Francis shipped the horses Puddles, Duel and Free Ride to Florida in the consignment that carried the Bomar Stable to the same destination. J. F. Beitler, who conducts a van service in Baltimore, was a visitor Wednesday and brought the information that twenty-one members of the Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt stable pulled away from Mount Washington loading chute and were headed for Santa Anita Park. The shipment was headed by Heelfly, which will be the main dependence for the rich features at the West Coast track. The J. Merryman Black horses that are resting at Pimlico will be moved to Hialeah Park December 16, according to present plans. Jockey R. Klein has joined the stable of Louis Leith and will do the riding for that establishment. For a consideration that was not made public, B. F. Christmas purchased the four-year-old chestnut gelding Unheralded from Miss Audrey Davies. Unheralded is a triple winner this year and won the fifth race here Tuesday. William Royle purchased the plater Bo Dean from F. J. Haller and sent the racer here from Bowie to finish out the balance of the meeting. J. A. Murphy arrived from Baltimore In search of racing material for the winter season in Havana, Cuba.
