VIRGINIA J. TRIES COMEBACK Returning to Race Wars Today at New Orleans After an Absence of One Year. NEW ORLEANS, La., Dec. 7. N. L. Nay-lors Virginia J., one of the best sprinters at the Fair Grounds here last year, is to return to the wars tomorrow afternoon after an absence of almost a year. The daughter of Crack Brigade, owned by N. L.- Naylor of Houston, Texas, was turned out last spring and, taken up again this fall, has been training splendidly and is expected to take her place among the leading speedsters here this winter. Virginia J. is to return to competition in the Asheville Purse, an allowance race at six furlongs, and eight have been named to oppose her. Among others, she will be asked to meet Pandonna, a surprise winner here several days ago. Completing the field are Warlaine, Radio Charm, Anna Grand, Rich Cream, Joanny, Dusky Prince and Phalasan. Virginia J. may not rule the favorite for tomorrows featured sprint, but she is certain to come in for stanch support from the public, which has not forgotten some of her splendid efforts last winter. Another race on tomorrows card which brings, into action a useful band of sprinters is the field in which such as Our David, Miss Lizzie, Miss Balko, Jadva, Tramway and Idle Elf are to compare speed. With interest in the meeting continuing to run high, another crowd of gratifying proportions is expected to be on hand, tomorrow. The track promises to be fast.
