ROMANELLI AT FAIR GROUNDS NEW ORLEANS, La., Dec. 7. Memories of the days when Sammy Holmans Best Pal was the kingpin of the handicap horses in this section were brought back by the appearance of "Roxy" Romanelli on the scene at the Fair Grounds. It was "Romey" who was astride the E. R. Bradley cast-off in the majority of his conquests over the Crescent City tracks. Romanelli sported the silks for more than thirty years during which time he rode in several foreign countries, as well as in the United States. Romanelli was one of the first of the American resinsmen to sport the silks in Buenos Aires, Peru, and other countries of the western hemisphere. It has been several years since Romanelli retired from the saddle, and he is in New Orleans, visiting relatives of his wife. Romanelli 1 will depart for Florida after the Christmas holidays, where he is an attache of the mutuel department at Hialeah Park.
