TANFORAN TURF NOTES f hB 8 Adams and Longden have returned from Caliente, where they went to ride Sunday and Longden increased his advantage over the Kansas "Kewpie" by piloting two winners to the latters one. Longden is now fourteen winning mounts in front of Adams with ten more racing days on the west coast to go, five at Tanforan, four at Caliente and one at Santa Anita. M. B. Anderson purchased Rich Daddy and Bon Ivy from Mrs. R. E. Cooper Sunday morning at private terms. Trainer T. C. Griffin has blistered the two-year-old filly Kovno and will turn her out for the winter at the ranch of P. Genant. Major, Carr, of the government remount service, arrived at Tanforan Monday morning and will spend the week looking over "possible stallions for the government. Eual Wyatt, trainer of the Mrs. J. F. Waters stable; made a flying trip to Agua Caliente over the week-end. He was well satisfied with the way the meeting is going and had the pleasure of seeing Make and Break of the Waters stable come home a victor. E. Jebbins shipped Party Spirit to Santa Anita Sunday morning, where he will rest up until the meeting gets under way. The stewards have placed the plater Far-quhar on the stewards list after the poor showing he made in his last start. Trainer G. W. Glick shipped all the horses in his charge to Santa Anita over the weekend. Glick trains the horses of Mrs. Harry Curland, N. Goldstone, S. J. Riskin, Mackay and Washburn and J. R. Owens. J. Bowers sold the six-year-old horse Adirondack to the government remount service. Adirondack will be shipped to one of the army remount stations during the coming week. Adirondack is by Hildur, the same stallion that sired Main Man. Charlie Irby shipped three head to Santa Anita Sunday, Michaelmas, Charing and Brilliant Light. The latter two are the property of Mrs. E. J. Comiskey. Earl Beezley broke the jinx that has followed him lately by saddling two winners Saturday, Dolicia Boy and Better Bet, the latter of the Kozinsky Bros. Beezley gained a clear lead in the coast trainers race. He now has sixty firsts as against fifty-nine for Eual Wyatt and fifty-eight for Ted Horning.
