1 AGUA CALIENTE TURF NOTES . $ There will be two absentees from the jockey colony for the remainder of the year at Agua Caliente, .as jockeys Bianco and Russo, who were grossly to blame for the crowding in the third and fourth races, were suspended for the balance of the year and fined 5 each. The first big wagers in Zeke Caress Santa Anita Handicap future book, were received this morning. Julius Wild placed a heavy bet across the board on Ossabaw, Louis B. Mayers former jumper, which cut the price from 60 to 30 to 1. The other wag-. er was on Ligaroti at 15 to 1 and came from Hollywood, but the price remained the same on the Argentine importation, owned by Bing Crosby and Lin Howard. Joe Cohen, one of the leading stockholders in the Bay Meadows track and owner of a racing stable, flew down from San Francisco foi the week-end and found Caliente quite a spot for action. Cohen had a horse, Dolicia Boy, running in the third at Tan- f foran, and backed him rather heavily in the foreign book under the grandstand. He also liked Paradette in the fifth at Caliente and wagered on him also. Both horses were off at the came time and Cohen got a fair workout running back and forth, trying to hear the description of both races, but was well rewarded for his trouble, as both horses won. . Governor A. B. "Happy" Chandler, of Kentucky, will be an honored guest at Agua Caliente next Sunday. The number one Citizen of the Blue Grass State, is visiting in Los Angeles, and has accepted the invitation of Lou Anger to visit the Mexican border course over the week-end. Miss Elizabeth Daingerfield, famous woman breeder also is a visitor in Southern California, a member of the family of the name which for generations have been leaders in the breeding industry, is considered the foremost American authority on blood lines and mating. It is expected that she also will visit Caliente Sunday. Governor Chandler and Miss Daingerfield are at Los Angeles to attend the preview of the picture "Kentucky" directed by David Butler. Butler owns a string of horses. Johnny Longden, leading rider in America, will again exhibit his skill in the saddle here Sunday, it was announced. Longden is winging along comfortably in front of his closest rival, Johnny Adams. It is expected that Adams will again elect to give battle to the leader here Sunday, rather than pass up the opportunity to cut down Longdens lead.
