PROSIT, away slowly, was hustled into contention at once, drove through boldly on the inside to take command nearing the far turn? saved ground entering the stretch and just lasted. WELSH STAR, away fastest, could not outrun the winner, was taken under restraint when headed, responded well to punishment through the stretch and just failed to get up. BARRACA raced evenly, but could not improve her position after stumbling on the far turn. LADETTE did not fancy the going. MOPPO raced greenly. The others were outrun. ENTHUSIASM, fractious en route to the post, broke well, was rated close to the pace of JOHNNY BANE, raced the latter into submission entering the stretch and fought it out stubbornly. LULA KHAYYAM, always in a contending position, moved up stoutly on the outside through the stretch and secured a short lead between calls in the stretch, but ENTHUSIASM came on again. JOHNNY BANE had good early , speed, but tired in the final eighth. JAY D. raced evenly and had no excuses. TRIXIE LASS could ndft threaten seriously. JAMES PAL could not keep up. MY PAULINE, sluggish in the early stages, moved up very fast on the outside on the turn, gradually wore down the leaders and was up in the final stride. TRAVELO shook off QUICK VINE to open up a clear lead through the stretch while saving ground and continued gamely to the end, but just failed to last. TRUJILLO, always well placed while racing under restraint, moved up dangerously in the stretch and continued gamely to the end. PETER H. lacked early speed, but finished stoutly. GOLDEN KEY could never engage the leaders. MOONBURN quit. QUICK VINE had good early speed, but quit badly. DEPINARD, close to the early pace of WHIP SNAKE, was well rated within striking distance of the leader throughout, came to the inside through the stretch, gradually wore down WHIP SNAKE and was up in the final few yards. WHIP SNAKE was sent to the front immediately following the start was well rated throughout, came slightly wide in the stretch and just failed to last. IRISH VOTE, slow to settle into full stride, improved his position after a half mile and finished stoutly, but was no match for the first two. MISLED raced evenly, but could not improve her position. FAMOUS CLAYTON was never a serious threat. The others were outrun. The latter, rated within striking distance of the leaders from the start, moved up very quickly midway of the back stretch, continued gamely thereafter and closed courageously. FRENCH TRAP, slow to find her best speed gradually bettered her position in the back stretch, moved up with a rush on the final turn, but was caught in close quarters and finished well when clear. BILL BLEIWEISS, away well, lost ground on the first turn when forced to race wide, then moved into contention in the back stretch, but tired at the end.
