I FAIR GROUNDS TURF NOTES fl S : Julius Meyers has been engaged by W. H, Dashields to direct the training of the following three horses during the remainder! of the Fair Grounds meeting: Hood Coverj Miss Horton, Maguire. Apprentice Jimmy Green and Fred Scott escaped serious injuries when they fell in thtf seventh race Monday afternoon. Green, however, will be inactive for an indefinite period " due to a long cut on his thigh, which required a number of stitches. Clarence E. Davison, who has been suffering with an acute attack of tonsilitis, has recovered sufficiently to be up and around, and is again directing the training of his thoroughbreds quartered at the Fair Grounds. The veteran reinsman, Tony Pascuma, who essayed .a successful comeback during the past summer in the East and in Canada, is an arrival and is galloping horses for Marion Allen to fit himself to resume riding at the Louisiana Jockey Clubs track for the balance of the season. Knave, Norman Sloat and Cyrus P. are the only bad actors on starter John Morris-seys schooling list at present, but there are a number of others that receive lessons in, post behavior each morning. When "Buddy" Hackers suspension expires and he makes his return to the saddle at the Fair Grounds, he will be a full-fledged jockey. Hackers apprenticeship expired during the suspension. Word was received from James Emery, Chicago turfman who has a large stable of thoroughbreds here in charge of Dave Viti-toe, that he is due in New Orleans this week and will remain for an indefinite period. P. C. Hamilton left for his home in Dallas, Texas, where he will remain until after the Christmas holidays. He then will return to New Orleans for the balance of the Louisiana J.ockey Clubs meeting.
