KEENELAND TURF NOTES I $ and Harry Hopkins, secretary of commerce, who is visiting in the Blue Grass, was a vis-tor at Keeneland Tuesday afternoon. George McCloud, formerly of Versailles, who now makes his home in New York, entertained a party of seven in the Keeneland clubhouse Tuesday. A heating system has been installed in the clubhouse dining room and cocktail lounge since the running of Saturdays program. Christopher J. Fitzgerald arrived from his home at Riverside, Conn., for an indefinite visit. Condition books for the Pimlico meeting are being distributed by Sidney S. Brown, assistant racing secretary. J. O. Keene, who is training his own horses, will transfer twelve head from here to Churchill Downs at the close of this meeting. J. E. Oros, Americas leading rider, arrived from Havre de Grace and accepted three mounts Tuesday. Hubert Taylor, who books the riding engagements of Porter Roberts, was accepting the congratulations of horsemen at Keeneland. Mrs. Taylor presented him with twin boys Monday night at St. Elizabeths Hospital, Covington, Ky. Mrs. Taylor and the youngsters are doing fine, stated Taylor when he reported at Keeneland Tuesday morning. P. H. Williamson, owner of the Indian Lake Stable, has been released from a local hospital. He has recovered from a slight attack of influenza. William Schwartz is acting as agent for the Cuban rider, A. J. Fernandez. Odie Clelland, trainer for Mrs. R. J. Murphy, Evansville, Ind., sportswoman, was a visitor Tuesday. Clelland has twenty-one horses in training at Churchill Downs and three head here. George H. "Pete" Bostwick, world famous amateur rider, arrived from New York and is the guest of John Wesley Marr. C. L. Croan, a member of the racing commission, motored from Louisville for Tuesdays sport.
