I JAMAICA TURF NOTES A and Jimmy Jones, of the "camera finish," arrived from Havre de Grace and will remain for the meeting. Secretary George H. Bull will go to Havre de Grace on Saturday. He will lead the New York cheering section for Volitant in the Chesapeake. Trainer James Fitzsimmons will point the Paumonok winner, Johnstown, for the Wood Memorial. Trainer Jules Wessler reported Tuesday morning that his old favorite, Pastry, did not like the sloppy going. While being led to the track the old fellow tossed his rider and calmly returned to his stall and refused to move. Devils Peak and Challenger will be the Wheatley Stable-Belair Stud reliance in the Chesapeake. Don Meade will probably ride the Saratoga Stables Volitant in the Chesapeake if not kept here by a stake engagement. Joe D. Healey was a belated arrival from Florida and joined the paddock throng. Track superintendent Tommy Maher, following the morning trials, ordered floats on the track to squeeze out some of the water. -
