PARI-MUTUELS EXPLAINED The most comprehensive explanation of pari-mutuel betting available to the racing public is found in the American Racing Manual. With ihe exception of the New York tracks, where bookmaking is the only method of betting, all other race tracks In the United States and Canada use the pari-mutuels or a modification of this system.
