The latter, slow to begin and steadied along after reaching her best stride, moved forward when ready and tired after challenging .boldly midway of the stretch. ATATIME, in close quarters early, moved up gamely when clear and held on well. YANKEE LAD made up ground. EXPLOSION quit. The others were outrun. RAPID WAY, away in a tangle, was hustled along when clear, responded to strong urging when straightened away in the stretch and, wearing down the leaders, won easily. BABY LAMB took command at once, established a clear lead under hustling tactics, gave way in the stretch, but held on well. SWIFT SINGER, a factor from the start and on the outside, lost ground entering the stretch, but came fast when straight. PERFECT RHYME, on the inside and fast to begin, reached the lead near the last eighth, but tired fast near the finish. DENVER had no mishaps. ALEXANDER and SHIRLEY G. were unprepared at the start. OURS moved up when ready, was forced wide by the winner and, coming fast through the stretch, finished gamely. BOBBIN, hustled to the front, established a good lead, but gave way in the last eighth. KATES KITTEN worked her way up steadily and closed with a rush. WOOPEN INDIAN was blocked in the first quarter and showed little thereafter. HIGH TOP quit.
