CRETE STAKES ATTRACTIVE Horsemen at Louisville Show Much Interest in Stake Features. Lincoln Fields Headliners Fashioned for Horses of All Ages — Nominations Closing on May 10. * LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 1.— There is a lively interest here among horsemen in the eleven stakes which will be run during the twenty-seven-day meeting at Lincoln Fields whose opening is scheduled for May 25. Many of the stables now taking part in racing at Churchill Downs have made reservations at the Crete track and Lincoln Fields liberal stakes program has sounded a popular, note among them. Nominations for the eleven features, each of them endowed with ,500 in added money, close on May 10, and if the interest in them here is any indication, they should be subscribed to heavily by that time. Blanks have been sent to all the major tracks and also are available at the Chicago offices of the Lincoln Fields Jockey Club in the Congress Hotel. The stakes are fashioned for horses of all classes and are to be run at distances from five furlongs to a mile and three-sixteenths. The list of stakes follows: STAKE LOST. Crete Handicap, three-year-olds and up; three-quarters mile, May 25. Dearborn Handicap, two-year-olds fillies; five-eighths mile, May 27. Kankakee Handicap, three-year-olds and up, fillies and mares; one mile, May 27. Chicago Heights Handicap, two-year-olds, colts and geldings; five-eighths mile, May 30.
