CORSICA broke swiftly, set a steady pace, saved much ground all the way and fought it out gamely when caught. DARK RAPTURE raced close up in the Tarly rumiing and finished with good encrcy in the final drive. GOOD RECEPTION could not make up any ground in the final drive. ANNIE ALONE was caught in tight quarters early and vvas unable to engage the "leaders UPRISING began slowly. HARDY MISS was squeezed back early. CANTERUP raced greenly. BUCK LANGHORNE, saved back of the leaders for the first mile, moved up willingly when placed to a drive, wore BROADSIDE KING down readily at the final turn, drew into a long lead and was taken under strong restraint after clearing the last fence. BROADSIDE KING raced into an easy lead, was steadied to all of his fences, but was no match for the winner when challenged. SALUDA had no speed at any time. BARRYSTAR moved forward stoutly going to the. ninth fence, reached the pacemaker at the twelfth jump, then fell at the fourteenth. He was remounted to finish in the time limit for fourth. WILFRID G. stumbled and fell on the flat after taking the fourteenth jump. FARNDALE lost rider at the eighth fence and PAPER MOON lost rider at the fifth. Corrected weight — Paper Moon, 147. . MAECLOUD, forced to race on the outside, improved her position steadily and was best of the others. ZOSTERA made a weak bid rounding the turn, then tired under punishment. ZENANA moved forward on the turn, then tired. WHITE COCKADE did not fancy the footing. PATSEY BEGONE showed a flash of early speed then quit. DOG FLOWER raced poorly. SUN EGRET, breaking slower than usual, was caught in tight quarters after the start, saved ground until reaching the stretch, then came to the outside and finished stoutly. ROUGH TIME set a good pace early, saved ground, but faltered when caught. BATTLE JACK had good speed for five-eighths, then tired. PREEMINENT broke tardily and was unable to get into contention. The latter - was allowed to. drop back off the pacemaker after reaching the back stretch, rallied gamely in the late stages and came gamely approaching the Finish. COUNTER PASS bettered her position on the outside and finished full of run in the last lialf mile. SCARLET O. was crowded back entering the back stretch, recovered and closed gamely. LONE HAND closed a big gap. BOSOPI raced well. DUB was steadied while setting the pace, but failed to stay when placed to a drive. PUDDLES could not get into contention. GORSE was hurried into a contending position going to the first turn, reached the pacemaker to assume command nearing the stretch, drew clear and had speed in reserve to the end. CAREFUL MISS bettered her position while-saying ground, came through on the inside when straightened into the stretch and finished gamely. GOLDEN VEIN, placed prominently early, nfade a stout challenge at the final turn and held on gamely to the close. RED JACK raced to the front early, was steadied until challenged and I continued courageously when caught. GUEST OF HONOUR II. lost ground in the last half mile while finishing stoutly from a slow beginning. ANGLO SAXON had no excuses. LADY ROMA and SETEMUP were outrun.
