MARY ALLEN, outrun for half the distance, came very fast when ready to get a "good lead after enter- -ing the stretch and had little trouble leading to the finish. SIR RIDGWAY, close enough in the early running, made a good move while saving ground in the stretch, but did not seriously . threaten the winner. BINOCULAR raced to the front at once to draw away from the field rounding the far turn, but tired in the stretch. BON AMOUR closed some ground. SHORTBREAD was taken in hand when about to move up to BINOCULAR in the back stretch, then dropped back while his rider was looking around and was hard urged in the stretch when too late. DON GUZMAN, well rated in the early running, moved forward steadily when called upon to take command an eighth out and, eoing well to the finish, held SEXTUS. The latter came strongly on the outside when called upon and, although forced wide, was going well at the end. SENTIMENTALIST got through an opening on the inside on the stretch turn and raced well thereafter. UNDULATE tired after taking command on the stretch turn. UALLNO was used up in the first part and had little left. ANOPHELES was rushed to the front and into a long lead in the first quarter, bore out under weak handling through the back stretch and was done after permitting UNDULATE to get through on the inside of him ncaring the stretch turn. Won easily; second and third driving. , GALLACLAY raced to the front at once to open up a long lead after entering the back stretch and, never fully extended, won with speed in reserve. WILD TURKEY came fast after leaving the back stretch, but was doing her best at the end to hold AU MAN. The latter came gamely through the stretch and was pressing WILD TURKEY on the outside at the end. WILDLAND ran his race, but was not good enough. IRON HILLS tired. NEDROB seemed outclassed. SWEEPALOT went to the front early, raced on practically even terms with CONGRESSMAN through the back stretch, was in close quarters and, dropping back nearing the stretch turn, seemed beaten, but came to the outside in the stretch to finish fast and caught BEST BEAU in the closing strides. BEST BEAU, saved close to the pace for a half mile, racpd to the front when ready to open up a good lead while savins: ground in the stretch, but was unable to resist the winner, although going fairly well to the end. CONGRESSMAN showed good early speed, seemed to tire on the stretch turn, but came again in the run home to best the others. ENCHANTED made a good move entering the stretch, but tired in the final drive. FALERNO also faltered in the final drive. COUNT ATLAS acted badly at the post and stumbled at the start.
