BOSt VALET, outrun early and well handled, improved his position after five-eighths, responded to strong urgincr after reaching the stretch to wear down LASSIE FLO in the last stages and win drawing away. LASSIE FLO, well up and reserved for three-eighths, was steered to the outside of VERAKEE approaching the stretch and, after wearing her down when inside the final eighth, was unable to hold the winner. VERAKEE, fractious but away well, was hustled into a commanding lead early, held sway under light restraint, was put to strong handling when challenged and tired rapidly after a mile. EBONY PARASOL, in close quarters the greater part of the trip, tired. BOBBRAX bore out in the last stages. WEST SEA, rushed into contention after a half mile, tired under pressure. GAY WATER, reserved while holding a contending position for three-quarters, moved up on the outside of the winner entering the stretch and tired after offering a bold bid. KAPENA, outrun early, improved his position on the outside, was steered to the inside after reaching the final eighth and closed with a rush. MARGO G., far back for three-quarters, finished strongly.
