BABY THERESE closed up fast on the outside of the leaders in the stretch, swerved to the inside when a sixteenth out and drew clear in the latter stages. NORMAN NADI raced into the lead, turning for home, was slightly interfered with by the winner commencing the last sixteenth, but held the others safe. GIGGLE LEE closed resolutely on the outside through the stretch. WISE CLON raced MEHI into defeat, but tired near the end. DON GOMEZ, weakly handled, got away slowly, was forced to race on the outside of the opposition throughout and could never get to the leaders. MAMMY B. closed strongly in the stretch, as did MISS GUINEA. TINT OF GOLD tired, as did HIGH BID.
