NORTH RANDALL ALTERATIONS Regular Visitors Will Not Recognize Present Enlarged Plant. New Electric Odds Board and Camera of Latest Design Installed — Minimum Purses of §800. CLEVELAND, Ohio, May 15.— So many improvements and changes have been made at North Randall that the plant will not be recognized by those who were familiar with the old set-up. Thats the promise of officials of the Cleveland Jockey Club, Inc., which will conduct a thirty-three day meeting of running races at North Randall May 27-July 4, inclusive. The entire plant has been entirely reconditioned. The grandstand has been enlarged. New and comfortable seats have been installed. Adjoining the south-end of the grandstand, an enormous and luxurious clubhouse has been erected. Many of the old barns have been completely razed and "replaced by new ones. And then, too, several barns have been added. The track has been resurfaced with a four-inch layer of loam. A new drainage ditch, calculated to give Randall the fastest drying running track in the country, encircles the infield. MODERN CONTRIVANCES. A new electric odds board and a camera of the very latest design, have been installed. To assure that the calibre of horses at North Randall is in keeping with the did accommodations of the track itself, the Cleveland Jockey Club has announced a minimum purse of 00, which represents a new high in minimum purses in Ohio. All told, 64,600 in purses will be distributed during the thirty-three day meeting. Sirice 1909, when the track was built by the late Harry K. Devereu:., North Randall has been devoted exclusively to the trotters and pacers. With the runners invading the plant, the annual Grand Circuit meeting will not to be abandoned but will be held in September. The many improvements at the plant undoubtedly also will bolster interest in the session of the trotters and pacers.
