- DR. CHARLES H. MAYO DEAD The body of Dr. Charles H. Mayo, 73, internationally known surgeon, who died Friday in Chicago, arrived in Rochester, Minn., Saturday moi-ning. The veteran medical man succumbed to "lobar pneumonia," type No. 3, a rare type of the disease that almost always proves fatal. Dr. Charles, together with his elder brother, Dr. William J. Mayo, 77, founded the famous Mayo Clinic at Rochester, where both rich and poor alike came for medical treatment.
