SEVEN STAR, under strong restraint for five-eighths, moved to the leaders with a rush, opened a commanding lead approaching the final eighth and just lasted to withstand PRINCE PHATtOAH. The latter weaved between horses rounding the far turn, took a short lead turning into the stretch, relinquished the lead while bearing out and, responding to. strong riding when straightened out in the final eighth, just failed to get up. LIVE ONE,, never a great distance back, was unable to menace the leaders iir the final stages. TRIP had no mishaps. ALERGY was used up in the early stages. EDDIES BROTHER had nothing left for the stretch drive. JOHN SHOUSE faltered in the stretch run. DAME GRUNDY, well handl il and steadied along in close pursuit- of the -leaders, -was steered oui for the drive, took a short lead approaching the., final eighth and, responding with strong energy, outgamcd JOBIOSO. The latter moved into command when called upon rounding the far turn, saved ground, held on gamely when challenged and was going strongly at the end. BUZZIN AROUND made a bold bid entering the stretch, but tired in the final strides. BLIND SAGE was forced, to case back when FLYING CADET broke sideways, was allowed to settle into stride and finished courageously. GANNONNIC was unable to reach the leaders, but finished with a belated rush. ROSE K. tired. B. BARON was through entering the stretch. FLYING CADET broke sideways and was unable to reach the leaders under pressure and pulled up slightly lame. Scratched— 74467 Silver Palm, 108; 73910 Formax, 108; 74138 Yenrac, 113.
