STRAW HAT was in close pursuit of the pace from the . start, responded to urging in the final eighth and then finished well. WEIGH. ANCHOR, was placed under . pressure in the final quarter mile and then finished well. BOLINGBRQKE raced greenly. BOSS HOSS ran an even race. OLD RIVER had no mishaps in the runnng. Won easily; second and third driving. ERAN DE PERSE was kept in a forward position from the start, moved into command when ready and won with speed in reserve. SUMATRA was a forward factor all the way and held on with good courage to the end. DOLLYS LOVE was a forward factor from the stare and had no mishaps in the running. BIG REBEL showed a flash of early speed and then quit. FARNDALE had no mishaps. TROLIGHT fell at the twelfth fence. JUNGLE BOY lost rider at the eighth fence. Scratched— 73929 Bagpipe, 147. PORTERS MITE, in near pursuit of the pace from the start, rallied when urged in the stretch and then faltered. GILDED KNIGHT was close up from the start and responded when called upon in the stretch, but could not menace the leaders. BIRCH ROD was never a factor. The latter, rushed up fast from a slow beginning, was placed under pressure in the stretch and was going strongly when slightly impeded by the winner. ROYAL EMINENCE was kept in a forward position from the start and responded when placed under pressure to finish well. TALL STORY was close up frdm the start and had no mishaps in the running. SCENES HIFTER could not menace the leaders throughout the stretch. KNOXVILLE was outrun from the start. Overweight — Chant dOr, 3 pounds; Royal Eminence, 2; Tall Story, 2.
