MEMORIAL DAY ATTRACTION DETROIT, Mich., May 27.— From all indications, Tuesdays renewal of the ,000 added Col. Alger Memorial Handicap will be the most interesting in the six-year history of the one mile and one-sixteenth jaunt. With twelve of the twenty eligibles on the grounds, and chances for six others being shipped here, the stakes probably will attract the largest field in its brief history. Alfred Vanderbilts Trailer is due to reach here from New York tomorrow, and those expected to make the short trek from Cleveland are Drudgery, Francesco and Sortie Star. Arrangements have been made for the stabling of Bobs Boys and Chance Ray, which are slated to come from Chicago, and by Monday morning all of the invaders are expected to be bedded at the Fair Grounds I course.
