DEATH TAKES F. A. FORSYTHE Former Owner-Breeder Passes Away-After Prolonged Illness — Funeral Services Monday Afternoon. LEXINGTON, Ky., May 27.— Fred A. For-sythe, 69, died at his residence in Lexington this morning after a prolonged illness. He is survived by his wife and four children, Sidney, Donald, Barbara and Mildred; his brother, James M. Forsythe, and his sister, Mrs. Naomi Chinn. Funeral services will be at 2 oclock Monday afternoon at Church of Good Shepherd, Episcopal, Lexington, and interment will be at the cemetery at Harrodsburg. Fred A. Forsythe was born near Harrodsburg, in Mercer County, and in his young manhood was the owner of Fountain Blue Stock Farm. There he had the stallion Imported Odd Fellow and a band of good mares in partnership with the late Christopher Chinn, brother of Phil T. Chinn, who was the husband of Mrs. Naomi Forsythe Chinn. He produced and raced a number of good horses, among them High Private, Montgomery, Fountain Blue, Rifle Man and Duelist. He also bred Fontarabia, the dam of Cherokee, and a number of other good horses. After he sold his farm and horses he was engaged in commercial pursuits in Lexington for several years and from 1928 to 1930 he was secretary of the Thoroughbred Horse Association, now defunct.
