TOBACCO, under slight restraint while following along in nearest pursuit of the pace, wore down ARAHO LASS when reaching the stretch, but was unable to cope with the closing bid of the winner. COUNTRY LASS, permitted to settle into her best stride, was not called upon for improved speed until the last half mile, responded gamely and finished with eood energy. ARAHO LASS raced to the front soon after the start, was rated along under restraint and tired badly during the last three-sixteenths. SIR WINDSOR was never a threat.
