I j I : KNIGHT INSPECTS YOUNGSTERS | Chicago Owner Spends Week-End at His Noted Almahurst Thoroughbred Nursery Near Lexington. LEXINGTON, Ky., June 17.— Henry H. ! Knight, master of Almahurst Farm, the man who transferred his affections to the run-j ners after having gone to the top as the ; breeder of Greyhound and many other light j harness celebrities, is here for the week-end, I primarily to inspect the first crop of thor-| oughbred yearlings to go to the Saratoga : Sales from his great establishment, which is under the capable management of Marvin Childs. The Almahurst Farm consignment embraces twenty-one head, nine of which are by Ladysman, brilliant nine-year-old son of Pompey— Lady Belle, by Polymelian. They are Ladysmans first and they are good ones. Incidentally, Mr. Knight said the story from California to the effect that Ladysman will stand in the Golden State next year "is news to me," adding: "Hell be at good old Almahurst in 1940, unless I should sell him, and at the moment that appears unlikely. Ladysman belongs to Cleaveland Putnam, who is now abroad, and he is under lease to me, with selling privileges in the contract— if we agree that he is to be sold." A
