CRETE, 111., June 17.— One of the best week-day programs of the meeting will be offered patrons at Lincoln Fields Monday, when the final week of the local meeting gets under way. The feature of this card is the Edgewater Beach Hotel Purse, for three- year-olds, and it will engage some of the best horses of that age on the grounds. The dis- tance is six furlongs. Some of the horses that have been named for this event are such capable sprinters as Smart Crack, Anns Princess, Carla, Smart Trick, Unerring, Olney, American Byrd, Spin On, No Competition, Giles County, Shot Put, , King Cotton, Syracuse and Montsin. No better field of three-year-olds has been brought . together here this spring, and the race would I do credit to any card offered at the local course since the meeting got under way. Fifteen were named for the Edgewater Beach, but, since it is an overnight event and not a stake, only twelve will be per-1 - mitted to start. It is probable that if the ; track is fast a capacity field will accept the issue. D4 n
