By Conscript Outgames Put In by Head After Brilliant Duel in Test Handicap Flying Streak Sets Detroit i Track Record of 1:10 for Six Furlongs in Wyandotte DETROIT, Mich., June 27. By Conscript, three-year-old son of Pharamond H. and Bloodroot, carrying the white and black silks of Mrs. Earl H. Beezley, proved his ability to negotiate a distance of ground at the Fair Grounds today when he earned a driving triumph in the ,000 Test Handicap. Well handled by Allan Gray, By Conscript came to the finish of the mile and a sixteenth feature a scant nose before G. T. Williams Put In, who was three lengths in advance of Robert Needhams favored Cerberus, third over the eight other three-year-olds competing. The Beezley colt carried 113 pounds, ran the distance over the lightning fast course in 1:44 and rewarded his backers with a 2.80 "tote" pay-off. By Conscript, who recently won the Stand Pat Handicap here, boosted his seasons earnings to ,650, his share of the spoils in the Test amounting to ,250. Starter Bryan Steele had no difficulty With the field at the post and By Conscript was away well when the horses broke in perfect alignment. Unbuttoned moved up fast going to the first turn and for six furlongs led his rivals by a good margin. Cerberus and By Conscript always were in closest pursuit, while Put In was steadied along .within striking distance of the leaders. Turning for home, By Conscript took a half-length lead whenJJnbuttoned faltered and Put In moved up to offer his bold challenge. Cerberus also was very much in the picture, but could not better his position under Knotts urging. By Conscript and Put In then staged a brilliant Continued on Page Fory-Three. The blue and white silks of the Brown Hotel Stable were carried to a driving victory by Trustee in the Mata Hari Handicap, which matched seven of the better youngsters at five furlongs. Splendidly ridden by Eric Guerin, who was com- pleting a double, Trustee came to the finish a nose before Peterson and Childs favored Chop Suey, who was a length and a half in front of Mrs. A. Jolleys Air Beauty, who finished third. Trustee, top-weight of the field with 115 pounds, steppedJthe distance over the fast racing strip in :58, which time was just two-fifths of a second slower than the track standard. The Brown Hotel miss established herself a definite threat for the ,000 Moselem Temple Handicap, which will be decided here July 11th. Trustee, second choice in the speculation, paid 0.20. Flying Streak, four-year-old daughter of Royal Minstrel, and Rockabye Babe, racing under the silks of J. D. Weil, earned a clever victory in the Wyandotte Handicap. Well handled by Johnny Adams, Flying Streak picked up top weight of 112 pounds and completed the six furlongs in 1:10 to establish a new track record for the distance. The Weil filly and Wise Moss were co-holders of the old standard, which was 1:10. Second honors in the sprint fell to Joseph W. Browns T. M. Dorsett, who was a length and a half behind the winner and three-quarters of a length before Beezley and Cohens Samborombon, who downed Dis-player and Hotzea for the minor portion of the purse. "
