CARELESS had speed from .the start, took command while racing a littTe wide on the "stretch turn and drew out fast in the drive. CAPTAIN ZAC was hustled along from the beginning,- rallied under strong handling in the last three-sixteenths and closed gamely. BUSYRIDGEwas never far back, was under good pressure after a quarter and held on fairly well. THE NATIVE was slow lo begin anil made up ground fast after settling into his best stride. ; UNDULATOR dropped back on the turn and never threatened thereafter.. JOIS was rushed up between : horses soon after the start to; gain a contending position, racing prominently to the stretch, then faded. WATER TOWER had good early, speed, but gave way badly after three-eighths. The latter had early speed, was put to pressure after a half and held on well to the end. HILLS PALM was in hand parly, responded to pressure after three-eighths and finished stoutly. JAMES QUEST was under occasional urging from the start and made up some ground" under increased pressure in the drive. MISMARK had no excuses. COPPER HEELS quit after showing speed to the stretch. MEXICANA, away alertly, made the pace in hand, drew out when roused entering the stretch and, though tiring near the end, held GOLD FLAG safe. The latter lacked early speed, moved up steadily on the outside approaching the stretch, and finished gamely. LINGER ON was never far back, was shaken up after three-eighths and held on well. RUSTY GOLD was prominent from the start, was put to pressure after a half mile and tired. ARCHED raced evenly. MILLMORE dropped back on the turn and could not threaten thereafter. HEAD START was under light Testraint to the stretch turn, responded to strong handling thereafter and wore down ROMAN SOX in the last stride. ROMAN SOX made the pace under occasional urging, was forced wide and held on gamely under vigorous handling, but could not last. EVEN STITCH forced the pace while saving ground and held on well to the last eighth, then faltered. REWARDED raced wide much of the way, but closed stoutly. VALNORcould not reach the leaders. THE RAGE, on the inside early, was in close quarters going down the back stretch, moved up boldly on the stretch turn while being forced wide and held on stubbornly. HE MAN.was never far back, was put to pressure after three-quarters, also lost ground on the stretch turn and held on well. VEE SCOT held his position for three-quarters while un.der light restraint, bore out when roused on the stretch turn and finished wll. KALHI tired. CHERRY TRIFLE saved ground, but failed to rally. HEARTMAN was steadied along to the turn,- raced wide much of the way and closed strongly between horses in the drive. POTRANCO made the pace in hand, saved ground and tired when challenged. BOSS HOSS was never far away, was under pressure after five-eighths and held on fairly well. SOME CHANCE raced very wide throughout. POLYMELIOR tired. NO COMPETITION tired after racing prominently for five-eighths. TECHNICIAN saved ground and quit. The latter, steadied along early, moved up steadily after three-quarters, stood a drive gamely and held on well. SOME COUNT was outrun for almost a mile and then moved up gradually. DANCING LIGHT made up some ground. PENNSBURG tired. GREAT WALL gave way badly.
