ANDY K. Has just completed his first season at stud. Twenty-Two Mares In Andy Ks Court Millsdale Stables Stallion Given Full Book at Blue Grass Heights Farm LEXINGTON, Ky., June 27. Twenty-two matrons visited the court of Andy K. during the recent breeding season.. As he made his first season at stud, the bay horse, winner of 2,560 as a racer, received a select band of brood mares, two of them being Dangertude and Brune. "I think he is a good prospect," states Horace N. Davis, owner of Blue Grass Heights Farm, where Andy K. is at stud. Several successful sires have been develr oped at the Davis nursery Cohort, On Watch, etc. Andy K. is still owned by Millsdale Stable Pelleteri and Emerich. In 1938, when the son of Jack High Alice Foster was offered at Saratoga Springs, as a yearling,. Tony Pelleteri bought him from his breeder, John H. Morris, for ,700. As a juvenile Andy K. ranked second only to Bimelech, now at stud one-quarter of a mile away at Col. E. R. Bradleys Idle Hour Farm. Makes Bimelech Stretch Neck The Millsdale horse, probably the best ever to carry the Millsdale colors, made his reputation as a racer by putting Bimelech to a drive in the 1939 Hopeful. Bimelech, . undefeated juvenile champion of 1939, won all his races that year in a common canter with the exception of .the Hopeful, in which he beat Andy K., carrying top weight of 126 pounds, by only a neck. Bearing out in the stretch caused Andy K. to be disqualified of a number of victories. Among them was the United States Hotel Stakes. As a two-year-old the son of Jack High scored in the Arlington Futurity and Champagne Stakes. The Kent Handicap and Peter Pan Handicap were his wins as a three-year-old. Andy K. placed in other stakes at two, three and four. Alice Foster has more than distinguished herself as a producer, having foaled the stake winners Andy K. 2,560, Mr. Khayyam 7,545 and Noahs Pride. The latter has a phenomenal record in that he raced for 10. consecutive seasons to win 60 races. Jack High, sire of Andy K., was one of the fastest racers of his day. He once held the American record for one mile. A son of John P. Grier, Jack HiglThas transmitted his keen speed to such sons as Jacomar, High Fleet, Overdrawn, With Regards and Highscope.
