Fair Weather Best In Polly Drummond Wicfeners Homebred Miss Beats La Reigh for Fourth Straight Win at Delaware STANTON, Del., June 27. Fair Weather, Joseph E. Wideners fine homebred daughter of Sickle, demonstrated that she is a filly of the first water by accounting for todays renewal of the Polly Drummond Stakes at the local course of the Delaware Steeplechase and Race Association. She put forth her best endeavor to add the second stakes of the meeting to her score and stretch her string of victories to four straight. In her only other essay here she defeated top notch colts and geldings in the Dover Stakes, which headlined the opening days sport. A length and one-half back of Fair Weather at the end of the five furlongs was Anthony Pelleteris La Reigh, who won the Betsy Ross Stakes at Suffolk Downs last Saturday and third went to Parachutist, from the locally owned stable of Mrs. E. duPont Weir. Eight Contestants Eight fine fillies vied for the ,000 added purse, that was worth ,700 to owner Widener. George D. Wideners Stefanita, Astoria Stakes winner, and Witchwater were fourth and fifth, respectively. Adroit, Ask Me Now and Tellmenow, Hal Price Headleys entry, were trailers. The Head-ley fillys last efforts were in the Betsy Ross, and Tellmenow and Ask Me Now were second and third to La Reigh. They appeared not to like the muddy going. The three stakes winners had up equal top weight of 122 pounds. Fair Weather, a 6 to 5 choice, ran the distance in the splendid time of 1:01. Fair Weather was made a supplementary nominee to the Arlington Lassie Stakes, and that will be her next stakes effort.
