Won driving; second and third the same HALCYON BOY, under strong hold in the backstretch while racing lapped on SLAPPY, drew into command entering the far turn, widened advantage while racing wide on the turn and, while bearing out through the stretch, had enough left to hold BROWN FLOWER safe. The latter was under a tight hold for five furlongs, then responded to pressure and closed fast on the outside. CUTE EYE went evenly and had no mishap. SLAPPY was forwardly placed to the far turn, then weakened when bothered slightly by the winner. NEOTRIST and AMERICAN FIRE were never serious factors A claim of foul was lodged against the winner, but was not allowed.
