Dodson Turns Down Maine Chance Mounts BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y„ May 29.— Mrs. Elizabeth N. Graham, owner of the Maine Chance Stable, gave Johnny Adams the mount on War Date in the Top Flight Handicap this afternoon in place of Doug Dodson. It appears that Mrs. Graham was displeased with Dodsons use of the whip on her filly, War Fan, in a race down the Widener Course yesterday, but later offered Dodson the mount on her filly in todays stake. However, Dodson, irked in his turn, asked that he be also given the mount on Lord Boswell in the Belmont, but Mrs. Graham would not commit herself on this point, and Dodson took himself off of both horses. Incidentally, Adams rode for Maine Chance Farm last season, until he piloted War Date in a race against Busher.
