Chilean Chaser Sold BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., May 29. — One of the most important transactions in the steeplechase ranks was consummated today when W. G. Jones, acting for the Apheim Stable, purchased the Chilean-bred, Macanudo, from T. M. Shockley. The purchase price for the seven-year-old son of Knocker and Alumn was not made known, but the outlander will be trained by Jones for his future engagements. Macanudo made his debut here in a mile and one-half hurdle race and impressed devotees of that branch of racing. He raced in the name and colors of J. M. Jerkens, who had the horse under lease from Shockley, who earlier had imported him from Chile.
