Kearns Resigning Post BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., May 29.— As the field for the Top Flight Handicap was being paraded in the walking ring today, trainer Frank Kearns, who saddled William Helis Earshot for the stake, announced that he was resigning his post as conditioner of the New York division of the oil-and-helium magnates stable. The separation was entirely amicable and Kearns will continue with the Helis stable until the end of the week, after which he will take what he says is a much needed rest. Earshot could finish no better than fourth in the Top Flight, but Kearns has saddled a dozen winners for Helis since taking over the New York string at the beginning of the young season.
