Of Season to Date Two-Year-Old Event Brings Out Lenoil, Grand Teddy, Safety First and Merry Zac HAWTHORNE, Cicero, 111., May 16.— The seasons top program to date in the Chicago area has been arranged for tomorrow for the Lincoln Fields-at-Hawthorne meeting. Racing secretary Lawrence C. Bogenschutz has compiled an eight-race card that is headed by the 0,000 Joliet Stakes for two-year-olds at five furlongs. Leading the supporting races is the Belle of America Handicap for three-year-olds and older horses at six and one-half furlongs, and all of the other races are fashioned under allowance conditions. Thirteen high-class youngsters have been named through the entry box for the Joliet, and most of these have shown to advantage in other racing sectors. Madison Stock Farm has named Lenoil, a colt by Moose -head, who has won three races in a dozen starts. Victor in a recent race at Churchill Downs, he also accounted for his previous effort at Keeneland, although he was later unplaced in the Bashf ord Manor. He scored his initial victory at New Orleans. William Mikel has named two homebreds in Hypo-style and Hypothesis, sons of Hypocrite. Hypostyle cut quite a swath in New Orleans racing, where he won four of eight starts and was consistently close in his other efforts. Hypothesis won two of nine starts at the Crescent City. Unplaced in Debutante Merry Zac, who will represent C. Mauber-ret, Jr., was unplaced in the Debutante Stakes at Churchill Downs, when Calumets Bewitch galloped to an easy score in that filly test, but the Zacaweista filly registered at first asking at New Orleans and followed this victory by an easy success in muddy going over the same course. Fred W. Hoopers Grand Teddy was a very convincing winner at Gulfstream Park and he had accounted for his initial racing venture earlier at Hialeah Park. Dixiana may hold a strong hand in the Joliet with Safety First, a son of Isolater, who set all his own pace to win his lone start easily. While that was a race for non-winners, the Dixiana colt scored impressively and must be accorded a chance to go on. Joenace Stables Blue Helen was a very easy winner of a race at Keeneland and might be better than generally thought. Murlogg Farms Gee Whiz earns serious consideration in the Joliet, on his good fourth in the Bashford Manor in which the son of Johnstown led in Hypostyle and Lenoil, who have been named to oppose him in the Joliet. Gee Whiz was graduated at Gulfstream Park. W. W. Jones has named Belmont Beauty, a daughter of Jamestown, and this miss trimmed Gee Continued on Page Three Thirteen Three-Year-Olds Entered in Joliet Stakes Continued from Page One Whiz at Churchill Downs. She earned her first purse at Hialeah Park. Lou Schlosser has named his highly regarded Halcyon Gift colt, Templemoyle. Unplaced in two starts at Santa Anita, Templemoyle has trained well for his Joliet engagement. Jean Fox, an untried daughter of Fighting Fox, will represent Mrs. K. Ramsey and Miss Jean Cameron. The other two that complete the field have both been seen under silks locally. S. C. Backs Vi-Bid beat a field of maiden fillies over this track on Tuesday as a recommendation. Bert -Ram will represent Aarons and Weil, but a score from one would be a distinct surprise. In his lone local start he was unplaced in a dash for maidens. Many local favorites are matched in the Belle of America Handicap with topweight assigned to Joenace Stables Juke Box. who is asked to carry 124 pounds over the six and a half furlongs distance.
