Arlington-Washington Stake Blanks Distributed by Burton CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 16. — Fred Burton, racing secretary for the Arlington Park and Washington Park Jockey Club combined meetings, is in receipt of their stake entry blanks, and is distributing them to local horsemen. Burton has been acting racing secretary here in the absence of racing secretary and handicapper Lawrence C. Bogenschutz, who serves in that capacity at the present Lincoln Fields meeting. The Hyde Park Stakes, for two-year-olds at five and one-half furlongs, with added money of 0,000, inaugurates the 67-day meeting June 16. The entrants are to be nominated by June 7. The first of the more important stakes to be decided is the 0,000 Stars and Stripes Handicap, one mile and a furlong event for three-year-olds and upward, with entries closing June 14, and the race to be run Independence Day. Other outstanding attractions are the 0,000 added Arlington Handicap, June 19; the 0,000 added Arlington Classic, July 26; the 0,000 added American Derby, August 23, and the 0,000 added Washington Park Handicap, to be run closing day, September 1.
