Apprentice Boston Stars With Triple at Havre Captures Killashar.dra Purse On Well-Played Ariel Song HAVRE DE GRACE, Md., May 16.— Apprentice Donald Boston, a confident young reinsman from Mason City, W. Va., starred in the saddle here this dreary afternoon. Stealing much of the thunder from the veteran Al Snider, who until today had shoved most of his contemporaries in the background with his riding skill, Boston rode the winners of three out of the first five races on the card, his mounts including two longshots and well-played Ariel Song, who captured the featured Killashandra Purse, for fillies and mares, much to the delight of form players in the throng of approximately 10,000. Ariel Song, performing in the popular silks of Bruce Livies Bobanet Stable, proved a sound favorite, the chestnut daughter of Ariel — Clever Song wresting the lead soon after the start of the six-furlong dash to reach the finish a length and a half clear of S. H. Rogers Ginargie, who strove vainly to catch the lead from the half-mile pole to the finish. Ginargie was hardly a match for the willing Bobanet Stable filly, but was easily second best, earning runner-up honors two and one-half lengths clear of J. H. Elliotts Falsely. Strung out behind the latter at the wire were Norman Petittes Tedious Miss, H. C. Boorses Phara Surprise, Harrimont Stables Ghazala and Mrs. Henry Bowyers Teardrop. Ariel Song, a superior "off" track performer, completed the six furlongs in the highly commendable time of 1:12 in registering her first victory since the Gulf-stream Park meeting in Florida. The winner paid .40. Breaking swiftly under the alert Boston, Ariel Song lost little time in wresting the early lead. The filly was under a sharp drive to race Teardrop into submission through the first quarter and Boston was required to keep working on his willing mount when Ginargie moved up to take up the challenge leaving the backstretch. Responding briskly to Bostons urging, Ariel Song gradually drew out to a comfortable lead and maintained a clear margin of superiority through the final quarter mile.
